Adult piano course consists of Grade 1 till Grade 8 and the lessons will be conducted once per week. The length of the piano lessons depends on the piano grade that you are learning. When you are in a higher grade, it may take longer time for you to complete a lesson. The candidates will receive ABRSM certificates after they have passed the piano examination. Normally, Robinson Music Centre provides an upright piano during the lesson conducted at the centre. It is recommended for learners to have a piano no matter it is a new one or a second- handed piano in order for them to practise at home. Practise makes perfect, so you will still need to practise the Piano during leisure time in order to catch up with the lessons. You still can learn it whether you are adults or late adults.
In the assessment part, the examiners will be assessing the accuracy of rhythm and notes, the quality of touch, variety and gradation of tone, right choice of tempo, and expression’s detail, phrasing and accent. Any systematic fingering will be accepted if students are able to produce a good result. Besides, the examiners also take into account of the use of pedal. For those candidates who cannot reach the pedal, it is accepted if the result performed by a student is musically satisfied.
