As for the brand or the price of the strings, it is mainly depends on the guitarist. However, strings with expensive price do not mean that it will produce better quality of the sound. Types of music, method of playing and proper way of pressing chords do contribute to the good quality of sound. Ultimately, you need to know which type of string is more suitable for you.

Which type of guitar strings is suitable for me?
For a guitar, its strings play an important role as it produces sound waves which will vibrate in the body of guitar and come out from the sound hole. There are mainly 3 types of strings, which are
Steel strings
This type of strings is normally used for acoustic guitar since it is able to produce the brightest sound among these 3 strings. Steel strings are also divided into 3 different materials which are bronze wound, phosphor bronze wound and silk wrapped with steel. Steel string is basically tougher than nylon strings and a guitar beginner will normally find it hard to press. Once you have dead skins on your fingertips, you will not have problems playing guitar with steel strings for a long period of time.
Nylon strings
Nylon strings give the best for beginners to learn and press the guitar chord. It is relatively softer and easier to press on as compared to steel strings. Nylon strings are used for the playing of classical music whereby it brings out the softness of the material with the sound produced by the nylon strings. However, nylon strings have the problem of going out of tune. This is due to the material and the flexibility of nylon. It is recommended for those guitarists to tune their guitars each time they play.
Electric strings
Electric strings are very different from steel strings and nylon strings. It does not really create sound from the string itself, rather it produces electronic output which later will be amplified. Electric strings only cater for electric guitar. There are normally 3 types of materials which are nickel plated, pure nickel and stainless steel. Nickel plated is the most common electric string which produces a better electronic output due to its steel. Besides that, pure nickel produces a “vintage sound” due to its pure content. Nickel is relatively mellow than steel whereas stainless steel has a rough surface and creates better output electronically.
