Why music theory is important?
Music theory is the introduction of your music lesson and it does not matter which instrument you are taking. As long as you are learning either a piano or a violin, you need to understand the symbols, notes and music vocabulary which are written on the music sheet. Undeniably, different instruments have their own ways of writing the notes and using different symbols. Likewise, if you know about piano’s theory, it does not assure that you can fully understand violin’s theory.
If you are still questioning why music theory is so important, let me tell you the reasons. Learning music theory is from the aspect of theory whereas learning piano is from the aspect of practical. Just imagine, if you do not have a basic of theory, are you able to do well in practical? In such way, theory that has been learnt will later be applied in the practical side of learning piano.
